A Transformational Journey
Ella Nixon 鈥�26 is squarely focused on the future. A business analytics and information systems major from Endicott, N.Y., Nixon recently caught a glimpse of what her professional life may hold while working as an intern in the Binghamton, N.Y., office of HUNT Engineers, Architects and Surveyors for two summers. Over the course of her time with the company, Nixon supported the HUNT鈥檚 engineers and geologists, communicated with clients and helped develop and implement strategies to enhance business efficiency. She also designed, labeled and scaled master plans and organized proposals, reports and client information, supporting all engineering units and specialties. 听
The experience was transformational for Nixon, who hopes one day to work in the aviation or technology field, having been exposed to those areas at an early age and fascinated by them. Her time at HUNT will help her as she moves toward that goal. Most critically, Nixon鈥檚 internship helped her to clarify her values. She aims to become a positive force in the world 鈥撎� personally and professionally. That means prioritizing others, being supportive, trustworthy and collaborative, and remembering to be teachable and flexible. What鈥檚 more, Nixon hopes that future generations of Le 69色情视频 students will avail themselves of opportunities similar to the one she had at HUNT.
Ella's research at HUNT Engineers, Architects and Surveyors was made possible by the Ignite Fellowship, which helps students with the costs that are often associated with internships, including food, housing and the inability to work another job.
