Le 69É«ÇéÊÓÆµâ€™s Health Professions Advisory Committee (HPAC) includes several benefits to future health care professionals. We will help you with credential reviews for professional school applicants (assessment of clinical experience(s), volunteer/service work and grades), letters of recommendation for certain programs (MD, DO, DDS/DMD, OD, DPM). setting up information sessions on applying to professional programs in health care, help with personal statements for professional school applications, scheduling information sessions with representatives of professional school programs, mock interview sessions, and one-on-one advisement sessions.
The following are general requirements for admission to most graduate degree programs in the health professions: General Biology and Labs, General Chemistry and Labs, Organic Chemistry and Labs, Physics and Labs.
The following are potential recommended or required courses: Biochemistry, Statistics/Calculus, Psychology/Sociology, Microbiology,
Genetics, and Anatomy and Physiology
Many professional schools expect and/ or require exposure to the profession prior to application or admission. Professional programs may require a specific number of hours or type of experience (i.e., direct patient contact, shadowing, working with large/small animals, exposure to a variety of settings/locations, etc.).
