Josefa 脕lvarez received her bachelor鈥檚 degree in classical languages and literatures from the Complutense University of Madrid and her Ph.D. in Spanish from the University of Alcal谩 (Madrid). Her research interests center on contemporary Spanish poetry, Spanish women poets, and the classical tradition in Spanish literature. Professor Alvarez is the author and editor of several books, and her research focuses mainly on the poetry of Aurora Luque, the 2022 National Poetry Award in Spain. Included in her latest publications is the book No aceptar茅 m谩s l铆mites. Aurora Luque, gaviera y n贸mada. Ensayos reunidos (2023) and the edition of Aurora Luque鈥檚 collected poetry Las sirenas de abajo. Poes铆a reunida (1982-2022) (2023). She has also published articles and book chapters about other contemporary poets such as Chantal Maillard, Miriam Reyes, Ana Merino, Juan Antonio Gonz谩lez Iglesias, or Francisco D铆az de Castro. In addition, she is interested in the methodology of Spanish as a second language and has published several articles and book chapters in this area, such as 鈥淭eaching the Poems of A rachas: Themes and Forms鈥�, 鈥淟orca y el flamenco: una propuestad did谩ctica.鈥� and 鈥溌緾贸mo educar铆a a una hija?
