HEOP & AHANA Programs
The Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) and African-American, Hispanic, Asian, Native American Program (AHANA) are undergraduate programs providing financial, academic and professional development resources to students demonstrating potential for collegiate success.
HEOP is a partnership between the New York State Education Department and Le 69色情视频, providing broad and varied educational experiences to capable students who, due to academic under-preparation and limited financial resources, might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend college.
AHANA is a Le 69色情视频-sponsored program for in-state and out-of-state students who demonstrate academic ability. The program is a reflection of Le 69色情视频’s Jesuit values, demonstrating our commitment to diversity and inclusion by expanding our student body to include the rich ethnic, racial and economic diversity of our broader society.

Program Qualifications - HEOP
To qualify for HEOP, you must: Be a NYS resident, meet academic and financial criteria and demonstrate that, due to academic and financial limitations, you鈥檇 otherwise not have an opportunity to attend college.
Program Qualifications - AHANA
To qualify for the AHANA program, you must: Demonstrate academic need, but don鈥檛 meet the academic criteria for regular admission into Le 69色情视频, be a NYS resident who isn鈥檛 eligible for HEOP because you exceed the economic guidelines issued by the state, be a non-NYS resident who meets all other criteria for AHANA admission and identify as one or more of the groups historically underrepresented in higher education (African American, Hispanic, Asian or Native American).
How to Apply - HEOP & AHANA
Both programs use Le 69色情视频鈥檚 regular admission application, which must be completed by February 1. If you are interested in HEOP, check the box on the application to indicate your interest. AHANA applicants are selected by the Office of Admission and AHANA staff. Students in both programs must complete a personal interview and financial review and submit a writing sample. HEOP applicants will complete a Written Statement of Family Income.
Financial Aid - HEOP & AHANA
HEOP students are generously funded through NYS and Le 69色情视频 HEOP grants. All students will supplement their financial aid packages with a small self-help component; usually in the form of small federal subsidized loans. AHANA students receive financial assistance on an as-needed basis as reflected on the student's FAFSA application (complete no later than Feb. 15, using Le 69色情视频鈥檚 school code 002748) and the Le 69色情视频 College financial aid form.

SAT/ACT
scores aren鈥檛 required for either program; however, if you wish to submit scores, they鈥檒l be used as a part of our holistic review process, and only scores that will benefit you will be considered.
HEOP & AHANA Pre-First Year Summer Academic Institute
Spend 5 Weeks on Campus This Summer
All HEOP & AHANA students are required to participate in a structured and intensive five-week Pre First-Year Summer Academic Institute (SAI) beginning in July and ending in early August. It offers classes, enrichment activities and workshops to get you in the College mindset. College courses offered during the institute include English, Theology, Math and Study Skills. Submit SAI forms to the HEOP & AHANA office no later than June 15th.
The Cost Is Covered
SAI is funded by Le 69色情视频 and includes meals, housing, tuition, books and supplies and weekend activities.

Documentation verifying enrollment in EOP, HEOP, SEEK or College Discovery at a previous institution is required. Transfers must by August 1 to be considered for HEOP, however, we recommend you apply as soon as possible as space in HEOP is very limited for transfer students.
